Catholic Schools Week

Here are some highlights so far from Catholic Schools Week. We had balloon release and special Assembly to kick-off the week, wore slippers, favorite team shirt, spelling bee, Catholic shirt with uniform, get up and dance and spelling bee! More to come with crazy hat day, dodge ball, and special guest Mass. Thank you again for sharing your kids with me and choosing Catholic education and SSM.

Art Mural

The SSM students are working with Mrs. Cowman to create a new mural in the dining room. Our class got to help today!

Main Idea Stations - Review

We have been working a lot on identifying main idea in both fiction and non-fiction. To review for the test, we worked in groups to complete some main idea stations.

PE - Stacking Cups

When the gym is being used for programs other events, the students enjoy "stacking cups" for PE.

Kindergarten Buddy Presents

We enjoyed making a Rudolph covered Hershey bar for our kindergarten buddies!

Leftovers

Students were assigned a partner to play "Leftovers" to practice division. They were able to advance based on the remainder in their answer.

Main Idea Bags

In reading, we are studying main idea in both fiction and non-fiction. Students were given examples of main idea bags. They then needed to create their own! Students were assigned a partner to help determine the main idea bags of others.
